| Bio: | PB : Justin Hartley. Personality : Nicolai can be quite the gentleman when he wishes, but he tends to play the role of the arrogant rogue. He earns others' respect through his courage and ability, but that also leads to an ego. An ego that has, on occasion, worked to his disadvantage. Background : Though he was raised in privileged society due to his stepfather, his mother was a teenager when she had him. His biological father was one of the infamous Vanguards, (Lord Mikolovich, the patriarch of the family to be exact.) a family that was notorious for having their hands in anything dirty, illegal and morally wrong. Though no one but him, his mother, stepfather, and Captain Allard knew of his biological status. Nicolai's eccentric ways and ego led him through life, finding his own form of 'balance' of what he wanted and what was expected due to his station. As a teen, he was given the opportunity to travel on the Dark Skye, thanks to connections and ties his stepfather had with the original trio of the Skye. He was an on again/off again member of of the Dark Skye as the years went by, frequently going off on his own for months at a time. He was also Ava's best friend, and helped Captain Allard on several of his secretive missions that eventually led to the Captain's death. And as if proving how strong their friendship was, when Ava went catatonic due to death of her father, Nicolai was the only one that could bring her out of her state. By the time the Dark Skye was rebuilt, Nicolai ended up aiding Ava and her new companion Victor with some dealings surrounding the Vanguard family. The result was the remainder of the crime family ending up dead, with Lord Mikolovich dying by his own hand, though no one knows it but him. He continued his comings and goings on the ship during Ava's beginning years as captain, but eventually earned a ship of his own, the Manticore. Up until that point, Ava had continued to offer him a permanent place on the Dark Skye, but once he had his own ship and a crew of his own, she stopped offering. The friendship grew slightly strained for reasons on both sides and there was eventually a falling out between the pair. Afterward, Nicolai continued his pirate lifestyle, doing what he's good at. "Finding" things.. and usually keeping them. Three years ago led to a reconciliation (among other things) between him and Ava. So when she needed to break free of the Skye, he offered her a position as his first mate, which she gladly took. He then aided her and the others in the final fall of the Denalis, (spending some time on the Skye once more) and when he returned to the Manticore, Ava went with him and has been a part of his crew ever since. | |||||||||
